BS/OD OST – Catch a Star

Being the fun social person that she is, I think Miss Neko probably enjoys going dancing. So, I thought she needed her song to dance to. All I have to say is that I LOVE using a vocoder and I should do it more often. What do you think?

Why are you so stupid!

Yes, I didn’t end that sentence with a question mark.  This is because I’m going to talk about some of reasons I really hate going to the grocery store and I find myself yelling that particular line inside of my head during every adventure to the store.  While shopping for food is quite necessary, I often wish I could do it in a place with no other customers but me.

Now, I admit that I’m not exactly the most patient man in the world but I do try very hard to look at every situation from a point of view other than my own. That generally keeps me in check.  There are times, though, that I do wish I was wielding an axe to scare some intelligence into people. If only it were that easy.

Below are some of my pet peeves about grocery shopping. I’ll try to stick to talking about the two that bother me the most.  Here we go…

1. The store has a place to return your grocery cart to.  So, why do you feel the need to leave them in a perfectly good parking space! Not only does this get in the way of those who might want to park there but it also makes the store employees job more difficult.

2. Why is it so difficult for you to maneuver your cart so that other people can get by you? Pushing that thing around is a lot like driving a car.  Do you stick your car in the middle of the street and sit there blocking traffic? Actually, I wouldn’t be surprised if you do.

Other than just being idiots, I think a lot of people are just plain lazy. While it doesn’t take much brain power or time to show a little courtesy to your fellow shopper, there are just so many people who prefer to be selfish.  It really is a shame.

There is rarely a week that goes by where I don’t come home from the grocery store with a little less faith in humanity.  I guess that’s just another part of life. I can’t help but wonder, though, if people will ever change during my lifetime. Maybe that’s just too much to ask of the world.

Otakon – Day Two

August 1st, 2010 | by shaggy

I really wanted to post something yesterday but I was just too worn out to sit down and type.  After I got home last night around 6:30pm, I just kind vegetated on the couch and slept. I’m still feeling a little like a zombie today but at least I have enough brain power to talk about how Saturday went down.

After leaving Level99′s place around lunch time (he’s the one with the beard from the picture in my previous post), we got some grub and then headed back to the BCC.  Since I spent most of Friday being social with the OC Remix crew, I decided that I would hunt down various webcomic folks that I knew were at the convention.

I walked around the Artist Alley and met up with a number of other cool artists/writers: Greg Carter from Love is in the Blood, Gina Biggs from Red String and Jenny Breeden from The Devils Panties (it’s not porn). After making some purchases from them, I headed over to the Dealers room to see if I could find some of the folks from Intervention as well as do a bit more shopping.  As I was walking around, I heard a strange noise and realized that the fire alarm was going off.  While this was a bad thing in many ways, it actually had quite a nice silver lining.

The entire convention center had to be evacuated and that’s around 25,000 people.  I give Otakon and the BCC’s staff a lot of credit for handling the situation as well as they did considering the mammoth task of ushering everyone away from the building.  Not only did they have to make us all go outside into the heat, they had to make sure we got across the street as well. It was a slow process but there really isn’t a good way to go about doing that sort of thing.

As I was wandering around outside, I hit Onezumi (of Intervention fame as well as her own webcomic) up on Twitter to see where her and her husband were at.  As luck would have it, they were about 40 feet from me at a local restaurant having some beers.  So, I went over to their location and hung out with them as well as some of the people who are behind the convention T-mode. Since it looked like Otakon was going to be in turmoil for at least another hour or so, we all hung out together and chatted about everything under the sun.  It was good times for all!

After it looked like everyone had settled back into the BCC, I went back to the dealers room to finish my rounds before I headed home.  I ended up finding the talented people from Eminence and bought their double CD, Echoes of War. If you’re into video game music, I totally recommend getting a hold of it.

By the time I was done with all of my wanderings, it was about 5pm and I was ready to go home.  Between the heat and all of the walking around, I was ready to put my legs up and fade into the background.  Hopefully I’ll be all rested up tomorrow so that I can get back to work on comics!

Below are the pictures I took during Otakon. Most of them are from when I was hanging out with the OC Remix crew on Friday.
