When we’re in the artists alley at anime conventions, this is probably the most popular button that we sell. So, I’ve decided to put it up in my Etsy store where it’s available for purchase. Come on! You know that you’d love to tell those emo kids exactly how you feel! Don’t deny it!

I have something that’s a bit different this week. I decided to set a rather big goal since the new year is upon us. My lovely wife, Kate, has been pushing me to get to work on a new album. It will be a concept album and that’s something that I’ve been wanting to do for a while.
This album will be called ‘Binary Birth’ and it’s somewhat inspired by the recent comics about the beginnings of my character Hondo. You’ll notice that there is some spoken or acted material at the beginning of the little tidbit below. I plan on doing a lot more of that sort of thing as the album progresses.
Here’s how the album release will work. I’ll be posting a sample for one of the new songs on the first Thursday of each month instead of my typical one hour composition that I do each week. I’ll spend the entire month working on that song and it will be finished by the end of that month. I’ll then post it on my Bandcamp site where it will be available for free for the first week. After that, the price will be set to $1.00. Once the album is finished, I will release it as a CD with some lovely art (I hope) and other goodies.
Now, the story that takes place in this album deals with the physical build of Hondo himself. The first song starts at the beginning which is where most stories should start. Right? Now, things will change quite a bit from what I’ve posted here once the song is done but you’ll get the idea of where I’m going with it.

Today I decided to do a typical sci-fi/fantasy piece. They’re fun to do and I just felt like going through the motions today. There’s nothing too special about this render but I think it came out rather well.
This particular image was rendered in Carrara and I didn’t really do any post production work since I thought it stood well enough on its own. I’m starting to pay more attention to lighting and the different things I can do with it. It’s amazing how much adding a little bit of color here and there can do for an a piece like this.
