After a few bits of confusion (mostly on my part), it seems that I’ll be a participant guest for the New Media program at Balticon this May! I’m feel rather honored to have been invited and I’m looking forward to meeting a ton of new people. If all goes well, I should be putting on a panel for how to get started in 3D graphic art/comics. I’m looking forward to joining my friend Onezumi there as well!

While this little song is kind of sparse, I like where I went with it. Today just seemed to be a day full of interruptions, though! I really have no idea how much time I spend putting this together but it probably wasn’t that long.
Something that I had fun with here is varying an LFO (low frequency oscillator) on the lead guitar part. It was rather a simple thing to do but it has a cool effect with a down temple song like this. I can’t remember the track that inspired me to do something like that but I can hear it in my head. Knowing me, I’ll probably remember what it was in the middle of the night in a couple weeks or so.

It’s been a while since I did a cell shaded render. So, I put this one together to see if I still remembered how to do it. With Carrara and the Toon! Pro plugin, there are a ton of options that you need to deal with. Without the proper settings, it will give an outline to areas of the body that you don’t want. I think I finally got the hang of that part, though.
This image was rendered in Carrara with some post work done in Photoshop Elements 8. I’ve started using a little color scheme website that I came across to help me choose colors for the backgrounds since that’s something I’ve been needing help with. While the background is quite simple, I think it’s not too bad. I definitely need more practice in that area, though.
