| Q: What does BS/OD stand for? |
A: It stands for Binary Souls / Other Dimensions. BS/OD is a webcomic, an original music project and various other bits of geekery. |
| Q: Who is BS/OD? |
A: BS/OD is entirely my (William Chrapcynski) work unless otherwise noted but I wouldn’t be able to do any of this without my fabulous wife, Kate. |
| Q: What is your comic about? |
A: This is probably a question that I get a lot. The short answer is that a robot, a witch and a hologram get stuck inside a super computer that houses a bunch of gaming levels where they fight evil. The evil wants to escape back into the real world and our main characters are trying to stop that from happening. You might want to read the chapter break down. That will help you understand things a little more. Other than that, it can be difficult to summarize what the story is about. The BS/OD webcomic is kind of a combination of Reboot, Bobobo-Bo Bo-bobo and my strange sense of humor. Since I don’t write any of the dialog ahead of time, some pages can be influenced by whatever is currently going on in my life. Like my original music, the BS/OD comic can be inspired by various things. Sometimes it’s pop culture. Sometimes it’s video games. Sometimes it’s a cartoon or a movie. Sometimes it comes from nothing in particular but it’s something that amuses me. |
| Q: What other types of does will BS/OD release? |
A: It really depends on what mood comes into play for each song that is written. While “The System is Down” is quite electronic in nature, there are quite a few different moods that come into play. Hopefully they’ll be more acoustic instruments on the next set of tunes. I’ll never be strict about what genre BS/OD falls under. I tend to be inspired by a number of different things and that dictates a lot of my output. |
| Q: What software is used to create your comic? |
A: To put it simply, I’m not much of an artist when it comes to drawing by hand. The character modeling and positioning is all done in DAZ 3D or Carrara. The rendering and landscaping is done in Bryce or Carrara and I put the comic together using Manga Studio. |
| Q: What software/hardware is used to create your music? |
A: I use a lot of different hardware and software to put together my music It’s a combination of Reason, Record and Reaper as well as a few plugins. I also have a small pile of guitars and amps at my disposal in my studio. For a full list of equipment that I have, you can go here. |
| Q: I want to hire BS/OD to create something for me. What do I do? |
A: Send me an e-mail at shaggy@zoiks.org and let me know what you’re looking for. You can also check out my resume by clicking here. |
Q: What are these BS/OD OST One Hour Composition files in the download section?
|
A: Each week I try to sit down and write new music and I spend about an hour or so doing it. Basically, it’s an exercise to stretch the creative muscles in my brain. Sometimes I write something good and sometimes I don’t. More often than not, what I post doesn’t sound very polished but it gives you an idea of what the sound track to BS/OD would be like. Occasionally I’ll finish one of these songs and you can find those at my Bandcamp website. |
