Yesterday morning started off realizing that the power supply to our netbook was no longer working. In an effort to give it more juice, I jumped in the car with GPS in hand to find the nearest Best Buy to see if they had some sort of universal replacement. I should have known that it wasn’t going to be that easy.
The netbook we have is an Asus 1005HA which is fairly popular. So, I had high hopes that they would have in stock something that would work. I was wrong. Despite this netbook being just over a year old, they didn’t have anything that had the correct connector. After talking with one of the employees, I was told that there was a computer store just around the corner that might have something.
I jumped back in the car and looked up this place called ‘The Computer Deli’. Sure enough, it was about half a mile away and I didn’t have any problems finding it thanks to our Garmin named Daniel. He’s British.
After a short car trip, I arrived at The Computer Deli which was a small mom and pop kind of place. They didn’t have anything that would work for me either. I realized at this point that I most likely would have to order something via the Internet. So, I headed back to my in-laws place.
On the off chance that this power supply might start working again, I tried plugging it in. To my surprise, the little blue light came on. While I was happy that it was working again, I started wondering why it wasn’t working before. The only explanation I could come up with was that I somehow tripped an internal breaker switch and that it just takes time to reset.
Other tha
n dealing with the power supply issue, I did receive something quite wonderful from Kate’s mother. She apparently had received a lovely auto-harp from someone and she was handing it over to me since I sort of collect musical instruments. It needs a bit of a tune up but it’s in great condition. I’m looking forward to see what sort of sounds I can make with it.
That was pretty much my day yesterday. Due to my allergy issues, I’ve had a headache going for quite a while. It feels like my eye balls want to escape my head which is never a good thing. I ended up sleeping around eleven hours last night and this was added to the two naps that I took during the day. I still have a headache this morning but I do feel slightly better. I hope my eye balls stay in my head today.
