Being the synth geek that I am, I’m always interested in people who create music with them in unique ways. When a particular album strikes a certain cord in me, I listen to it over and over for days and sometimes weeks. Pilfershire Lane is one of these albums.
After checking out Tara Busch’s bio on her website, I noticed that she finds inspiration from people such as Brian Wilson. This definitely comes across on Pilfershire Lane. It’s got a certain cinematic quality that does a great job at painting a vast array of pictures in your mind. There’s not enough of that going around these days and it was refreshing to hear it from Tara.
For all of you other synth geeks, there is no shortage of vintage sounds here including a Minimoog Model D. Considering the face that her blog resides at Analogsuicide.com, It’s pretty evident that Tara has a love for all things that blip and bleep. I’d be lieing if I didn’t admit that there’s something sexy about that in a woman.
So, I recommend you go and pick up this album. It’s certainly worth more than the £4.99 they’re charging for a CD or digital download. I’m looking forward to seeing more music like this!
