I woke up around 9am this morning (Tokyo time) and realized that it would be a good idea if we got showered and headed out for the day. So, we made it to Akihabara around 10am and started our adventure in the electric city. I can tell you with a huge smile on my face that I was not disappointed.
To put it bluntly, Akihabara is a geeks dream as far as shopping goes. There are an insane number of stores that cover every sort of geek genre that you can think of. For the anime geek, there are plenty of shops that sell manga, DVDs, figures and other goods. For the computer geek, you can browse through all of the latest models from a variety of companies. For the video game geeks, you have a zillion places to buy the latest games as well as the vintage stuff.
Right now it’s nearing 10pm and I am beyond tired. So, I’m going to save some of the more specific stories until I have more brain cells to spare. In the mean time, you can see a picture below of our spoils from todays shopping. The interest fact about all these treasures is that they were mostly paid from a bit of luck that I had at a Macross pachinko/video slot machine. Let’s just say that I did pretty damn well for the being a first time player.

I’m exceedingly jealous.
