During the past few months, I’ve been participating in a little friendly contest called ‘One Hour Composition’. Basically, you’re given a theme and you have one our to write and complete a piece of music. Everyone then uploads their tune where the entire group listens to it together.
While I’m not always happy with what I put out each week, I do feel that I learn quite a bit from the experience. It teaches you to stream line your process a bit and you learn a lot about using the resources that you have. It’s quite inspiring to see what people can come up with in just an hour.
This weeks theme happened to be ‘Sleep’. While I could have done something with synths, I’ve been trying to work more with straight audio. So, I did a little diddy called ‘Waiting For You’. It’s a bit on the evil side but I think it turned out alright. I’m not the best at completing something like this in such a short time but I’ve gotten better during the past couple months. Anyway, take a listen:
Waiting For You
dang, that would have been great for halloween
For some reason I have fun doing this kind of stuff. As my wife said, I’m a strange guy.
I married a strange, strange man.
I won’t deny that.
