Between video games, DVDs, music and various computer related things, I have a quite a large amount of gadget lust. If I didn’t have any sort of restraint, our house would be filled with more stuff than I’d know what to do with. Well, that and Kate would most likely put me out on the curb. So, it’s for my own good that I keep myself in line.
Despite my self control, I do tend to add to my list of desirables quite often. I blame the internet for making window shopping so easy. What sort of things am I interested in? Well, let me give you a short list.
Korg Mini Kaoss Pad – Recently I’ve started cultivating a new sort of gadget lust. While I do enjoy big complicated musical instruments, I’m starting to enjoy playing with small portable devices such as the Korg MiniKP. After looking at some videos on Youtube, I became quite inspired by all of the wonderful things people can do with all of these small devices that seem to be popping up in the market. I recently acquired a Stylophone and I’ve been playing around quite a bit with the Korg DS-10 for the Nintendo DS. Even Kate’s old Casio VL-1 has grown on me.
The Blue Mikey – Over the past couple years, I’ve become interested in doing more field recording. I’d love to see what sort of things I could come up with using various sounds. I’m sure that there’s a ton of stuff that I could record when we go to Japan next year.
Final Fantasy XIII Special Edition PS3 – While my odds of picking this up are near zero, the Final Fantasy whore in me still wants it. I think it’s quite pretty. At this point, though, I’d be happy with one of the regular silm PS3s.
