No matter how far technology advances, the love of 2D platform games never seems to diminish. Games like Metroid and Super Mario Brothers always end up in people’s top 10 lists and it’s a no wonder why. They’re fun, challenging and offer fairly lengthy experience.

Over the first couple days of it’s release, I heard a number of people sing the praises of Shadow Complex. After hearing some folks compare it to Metroid, I finally broke down and gave it a try. After all, I needed something to tide me over until I get my Dissidia PSP bundle on Tuesday. Need to say, Shadow Complex didn’t disappoint.

This is probably the first time I’ve played any game that was classified as 2.5D. I thought it would be a little confusing at first but I ended up taking to it pretty quickly. In the end, I ended up enjoying the game more than I thought I would. Hopefully game developers will start putting out more titles like this.
