Apple Geeks Vol 1

Apple Geeks Vol 1

Despite being a web comic author/artist, I have followed very few other web comics until recently. Even though I have started to read about a dozen or so comics, I can never find the patience to sit down and read their entire back log. I really just don’t enjoy reading ‘books’ via a web browser.

When I found out Apples Geeks was picked up Dark Horse, I quickly put in my pre-order for their first volume so that I could start reading it from page one. There’s something about holding a book in your hands that makes such an experience pleasant and rewarding. I am also glad to support independent artists who get such a break from a publisher.

When I received the book in the mail, I was surprised to see how beautiful it was.  I kind of caught myself staring at it’s thick and glossy pages as I held it in my hands.  I have to say that it’s one of the nicest books to come from a web comic.  Dark Horse did an amazing job!

Considering the fact that I hadn’t truly started reading Apple Geeks until recently, I was glad to see that each page was annotated with plenty of stories and information. I had no problem getting familiar with how the comic started and what the driving force was behind it.  Add that to the other extra material in the book and you’ll find a wealth of entertainment.

Ananth Panagariya and Mohammad Haque are a couple of very talented people.  Since there are actually local to me, I’ve had the chance of meeting them a few times at various conventions and they always seem happy to meet their fans.  I’m glad that they were given the chance to release this book to the public and it will be firmly added to my collection. Now, go buy it!
