Today I spent a good bit of time listening to some podcasts. While I know that they’ve been around for some time now, I really didn’t give them much of a chance. I felt that I was going to end up being disappointed with most of them or feel that I had wasted my time listening to them. As with many things in life, I came to find that things were different than what I had anticipated.

Here are some podcasts that I recommend:

1) The S-Word is a very clever weekly podcast that bases each show on a single subject that starts with the letter S. Good stuff!
2) TGT Webcomics is great if you’re into reading web comics in general.
3) The Webcomic Beacon is another great podcast that centers around web comics.

While I generally have either a DVD, fansubs or music on while I work on 3D art, it’s nice to have something different to break things up. It’s interesting to see how the world is evolving when it comes to entertainment these days. No longer are we slaves to the big media considerations. While I think the big businesses will be around for quite a while, these little guys with their podcasts have a pretty interesting future ahead of them.
